She began pouring the soup, laughing throughout the process. After finishing, she used a rubber band to secure the soup container and returned to bed. Afnan, lying down and crying, perceived that Ammi favored Aisha over her. Remembering her hunger, she swiftly stood up, removed the blanket covering her, and emerged from her room. She was about to call for help when Afnan heard Aisha's laughter, realizing that Ammi had heard but wouldn't come out. Afnan's distress and cries fell on deaf ears as Aisha continued laughing.
Aisha taunted, "If you don't leave us alone, I won't let you go. So, leave us in peace." Afnan responded with a forced laugh, "I am your father's daughter. Please spare me in front of the water. I can't even drink in this house." Aisha, unperturbed, danced away, tying her hat around her waist. Afnan felt upset by this situation. Aisha's screams finally caught Ammi's attention, and she woke up, rushing to Aisha's room.
Because the electricity was on, Ammi saw Aisha's nose bleeding. She questioned Afnan about the commotion from the previous night, scolding her for not intervening. Ammi accused Afnan of not caring until Aisha screamed, and she took Aisha to her bedroom.
Afnan cried and pleaded, but she was too sad to expect Ammi to notice the injustice. She spent the night hungry in her room, unable to approach the kitchen.
After cleaning Aisha's face, Ammi instructed, "Go to bed and sleep. This time, no men will disturb you." Afnan woke up early the next morning, and despite her heavy sleep, she managed to endure it.
The next morning, when Asbha was leaving the mosque, Khamis entered Ammi's room, knocking on the door. Ammi, still sitting on the prayer bed, signaled him to wait. Aisha was asleep, and Ammi, wrapped in a blue sheet, sat on a white chair. Khamis, seeing a scar on Aisha's body, attempted to approach her, but Ammi gestured for him to wait.
Ammi noticed Khamis's worry, and the conversation continued until eight in the morning, when Aisha indicated that she was going to wake up.
Aisha turned to Khamis, and he observed her swollen face due to the nose injury. She admitted that Afnan had also beaten her the previous day. Ammi made eye contact with Khamis and inquired about Afnan.
"Who is Arniya?" Ammi asked, and Aisha hesitated to answer. When she finally spoke, she was reluctant to reveal the truth. Afnan overheard what Aisha had done the previous day.
Khamis, alarmed, stood up and rushed to Afnan's room. Without praying due to the pain in her body, he confronted Afnan, questioning her sanity. Afnan, in distress, admitted that she had hurt Aisha, prompting Khamis to express his anger and disappointment. Afnan, filled with remorse, explained her feelings and pleaded for forgiveness.
