In a desolate stretch of road surrounded by the vast Falfalan forest of Allah, a solitary rental car traverses the landscape. Its occupants, clearly travelers on a journey from Goma to twelve, bear the unmistakable aura of those who have journeyed from Zaria and are bound for Abuja. Among them, one woman stands out as her gaze is fixated on Kwallah, a young girl who appears no older than one and a half years. Her compassion is palpable, and a sense of concern fills her heart.
The occupants engage in a conversation reflecting uncertainty and fear about the consequences of their actions. Hagar and Salihu contemplate the reception they will face upon reaching their destination, especially considering their decision to bring Zahra to meet her grandparents. Despite Salihu's concerns, Hajara reassures him, emphasizing the importance of showing Zahra to her family and expressing hope that everything will be forgiven.
As they continue their journey through the serene forest, tragedy strikes unexpectedly. The car experiences a sudden, violent crash, leading to spilled blood and the ominous sight of smoke rising. The impact leaves no survivors.
The narrative then transitions to the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), where a group of young soldiers, designated Nd 1, stands in disciplined formation. Major Jibril commands their attention, conducting training exercises and instilling a sense of discipline. Among the recruits is Ali Haidar, a young man with a strong and confident demeanor.
During training, Ali Haidar's composure catches Major Jibril's attention. The Major questions Ali Haidar about his family, discovering that his father is General Saleh Yelwa, a respected figure in the military. Impressed by Ali Haidar's demeanor, Major Jibril assigns him a punishment of frog jumps as a form of training.
Despite the challenging task, Ali Haidar demonstrates resilience and determination, showcasing the rigorous training he received at home from his military father. The narrative concludes with Major Jibril recognizing Ali Haidar's strength and instructing the rest of the soldiers to follow his lead on a challenging run.
As the story unfolds, it weaves together elements of family, tragedy, military discipline, and individual strength, creating a compelling and intricate narrative.
